Why I'm standing
I have lived in Whanganui for most of my life and raised children here. With aging parents and young grandchildren living here I know very well how important it is to have a vibrant, safe community with good employment, great facilities and neighbourhoods – somewhere we belong. I want the opportunity to continue to add strength and vision to the council team.
About me
I am a chartered accountant and have served 9 years on Whanganui District Council and previously on the DHB for eleven years, seven as chair. I have run a successful accounting advisory business for over twenty years and worked in many governance roles. I understand how to develop strategy, implement plans and get results. My proven record as councillor and board member plus having an accounting business, gives me the skills.
My priorities
- Solve the housing crisis as the top priority with well-considered but bold actions.
- Be at the forefront of creating a great new entity to manage Three Waters.
- Continue to foster great relationships with all stakeholders as a way to get results.
