Why I'm standing
I believe Whanganui is an amazing city but council has too often invested large sums of money into poorly thought-through investments. I am also concerned that maintenance of assets is not well planned and often costs more money in the long term by being shortsighted.
About me
I have a background in transport and logistics, which requires planning, maintenance and budgeting. I am a wedding celebrant who has worked with people from all walks of life, as well as confident public speaking. I am current secretary of Wanganui Road Rodders and former secretary and zone delegate for Oogah Rodders; this gives me experience in organising many events and working with people, and a passion for all things automotive.
My priorities
- Invest in smart and low-risk investments to reduce future rates burden, not high-risk investments.
- Create a connection between the council and the youth of Whanganui starting by giving youth a voice.
- Stop the housing partnership plans, maintain the housing we have and advocate for government input.
