Why I'm standing

I care to invigorate a proper working democracy in Maungawhau by ensuring a diverse array of voices is considered at the decision-making table. I am young, Indian, I have a disability, I am an artist, and I have a well-rounded education in law, politics, economics, and security which means I would bring a fresh and effective perspective to the decision-making table.

About me

I'm someone who actively champions research-informed and community-connected decision making which has been fostered by my academic background and involvement in a wide array of community groups. I am also an enthusiast for good-natured collaboration. My master's studies in conflict has taught me that while hard conversations must be had, we can get closer to decisions that consider divergent viewpoints when we choose to understand and speak to each other without ostracisation.

My priorities
  1. Ensuring decisions consider the diverse community of Maungawhau on all fronts.
  2. Responsible spending on initiatives that meets the needs of our community.
  3. Backing groups that support and brings community together as part of creating safer communities.
