Auckland Council
The Auckland Council makes strategic decisions for Auckland on public transport, urban planning, environmental protection and other big issues. The council provides funding to local boards to provide public services in their areas, and manages council-controlled organisations which provide infrastructure, such as public transport, water and sewerage. The councillors and mayor make up the governing body, which shares governance of Auckland Council with the 21 local boards. The governing body is made up of 20 councillors plus the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in Auckland). Two councillors will be elected from your ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
I love Auckland. It's the greatest city to live in. Fun, vibrant, Kiwi and opportunistic and lots of 24-hour shopping. Very friendly, helpful and kind. Best of all I love the malls. I believe we have the best shopping malls in NZ and in Auckland you can always get to the beach. Beautiful breath-taking beaches. Free. We are mixed and versatile strong Aucklanders. I'm happy to be an Aucklander. I give back.
About me
I am one of the 500,000 Kiwis in NZ who are unpaid family caregivers with a highly disabled loved one at home, while achieving as a full time Massey University distance student, in B.Bus Property, single, and another thirty years combined as community youth leader and young children's leader, all for no charge. And successful businesswoman in retail shops retired and more. I offer to help Aucklanders in this mayoralty with passionate respect.
My priorities
- Aucklanders are heroes – deserve affordable weathertight dry, warm, comfortable safe homes in our city.
- Cut all Aucklanders' costs, more money into Aucklanders' wallets with strategic council management.
- Reward Aucklanders for strategic strong lockdown strength with significant rates reductions plus.
