Auckland Council

North Shore Ward
The Auckland Council makes strategic decisions for Auckland on public transport, urban planning, environmental protection and other big issues. The council provides funding to local boards to provide public services in their areas, and manages council-controlled organisations which provide infrastructure, such as public transport, water and sewerage. The councillors and mayor make up the governing body, which shares governance of Auckland Council with the 21 local boards. The governing body is made up of 20 councillors plus the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in Auckland). Two councillors will be elected from your ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Auckland Council election.

Why I'm standing

I love the Shore and our city. It is a privilege to represent you and your concerns around the council table. I am standing for re-election to ensure we continue to get the investment we need for our community now and plan for the next generation. I want my son and other children growing up today to have the same, if not better opportunities than I had growing up on the Shore.

About me

I have lived on the Shore my whole life. I come from a hard working local family. I am well connected and responsive to our community. I work positively with others to get things done, whether it's leading Auckland's Climate Plan, securing public transport investments, significant water quality and infrastructure upgrades for the Shore. As your councillor I have followed up on over 5,000 individual requests from residents, as your concerns are important to me.

My priorities
  1. Protect our environment – action on climate change, water quality, pest eradication and tree planting.
  2. Invest in transport – better bus and ferry services and safer walking/cycling options. Rail to the shore.
  3. Community safety – work with police and community organisations to prevent crime and anti social behaviour.
Current role
