Why I'm standing

I am a young person of colour, and I believe that my voice will be valuable at the council table. Our region is diverse therefore needs to be represented as such. My main focus areas are freshwater, community and youth engagement. Considering we have 15 lakes in the Rotorua region, we have to maintain them all. Community is so essential as every decision is for the people. Youth voices deserve to be heard.

About me

I grew up in Kawerau, went to school in Whakatāne and have lived in Rotorua for the past seven years. I have a great appreciation for the Bay of Plenty, and I believe I will put its best interests first. I am currently studying environmental science at Massey University. Our region has the potential to thrive, and I want to make that happen.

My priorities
  1. Freshwater Rotorua has 15 lakes which should all be monitored and have their water quality improved.
  2. Community – engage with people of the region because every decision will affect them in some way.
  3. Youth engagement in all council processes. Youth should be encouraged to have their voice heard.
