It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 16 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). One councillor will be elected from the Harewood ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. • Canterbury Museum plus Christchurch Art Centre will need support to finish their projects.

Te Kaha multi arena is the biggest project I plan to regularly monitor.

I plan to regularly lobby on Three Waters to make sure safeguards are put in place. It will affect the cost of arena plus public funding on health.

  • Seek feedback from residents on the performance of sporting, recreational and cultural spaces and whether they need improvement.

Restrict liquor licensing throughout the city, but especially in low-income areas where alcohol-related crime is high.

Support community organisations to host events that share their community and culture with everyone, increasing awareness and involvement.
