Mayor of Hamilton

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Hamilton City Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

Our city is the best in the world but needs true democracy, transparency accountability and integrity. My main concern is the huge debt and overspending. I also believe in freedom justice and equality, the power of the people, and that's why i am standing for the Peoples Voice. I believe in compulsory voting and the voting age lowered as for many years now the old boys network has controlled it all.

About me

I have been a union delegate working as a water and wastewater plant operator. I have worked on trust boards doing administration work. I have also been a pastor counsellor community worker promoting health and wellbeing policies, ministering to and taking care of people. I have been involved in national politics promoting direct democracy, a new constitution, family restoration and a kiwi greenpack representing all new Zealand. My dream is to be on the council..

My priorities
  1. Business development emphasising partnership collaboration with economic growth providing answers.
  2. Responsible spending and economic growth balancing need for new projects with keeping out of debt.
  3. Community consultation. Inclusion is a part of diversity. The voice of the people with 24/7 access.
