Henderson-Massey Local Board

The Henderson-Massey Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of eight members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Encourage local business to return to Henderson. There are a lot of empty shops in Henderson and it appears that cars are frowned on.

    Continue promotion of Westgate and Northwest.

  • In West Auckland, the local board needs to aim for a business sector that is high-quality, safe, attractive, and vibrant.

    By working with businesses, the local board can act as a conduit, with education sector, for youth to be able to work locally.

    The local board needs to work with others so that the West can be the tourism capital of Auckland due to the West's natural beauty.

  • Work with the Henderson and Central Park Business Association to help stimulate employment opportunities in the local area.

    Promote the sensible revitalisation of the Henderson CBD.

    Work with Auckland Transport to ensure public transport meets the needs of locals.

  • Stimulate employment opportunities in our area, so residents don't have to travel outside the area.

    Work with the Business Association to revitalise Henderson CBD post-COVID-19, to meet the needs of locals and make them feel welcomed.

    Support our youth towards employment by engaging with businesses in our area and make them feel welcomed.
