Hurunui District Council

South Ward
The Hurunui District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 10 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Four councillors will be elected from the South ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Hurunui District Council election.

Why I'm standing

I believe that I can bring a younger fresh viewpoint with a future focus. With 20 years of experience in small and medium-sized enterprises, and corporate environments including IT and specialised recruitment.

About me

I believe I take a measured approach to everything in front of me. My grandfather always told me you have two ears and one mouth ensure you use them in that ratio

My priorities
  1. Ensure that housing development is consistent with overall district plan.
  2. Make recycling and organic bin collection a priority for the Hurunui region.
  3. Aid the council and the mayor and not allow disruptive politics to impede the growth of the region.
