Kaiapoi-Tuahiwi Community Board

The Kaiapoi-Tuahiwi Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Waimakariri District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of five members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • These require feedback from the residents. Affordability is a significant problem, however building high density living has failed in Europe.

  • Ensure our local community will have a say in all policy changes regarding zoning and building consents.

  • I would like to see the building consenting process made a lot easier and more transparent.

    I oppose medium to high density housing as it does not bring costs down, in fact it actually increases costs.

    I do think that we need to rezone some land for building as we lost lots of land due to the earthquakes.
