Kaiapoi-Tuahiwi Community Board

The Kaiapoi-Tuahiwi Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Waimakariri District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of five members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • To maintain good communication with all the residents so the council has a good understanding of what the people want.

    We can't allow centralisation of councils like the current proposal. It would make it extremely difficult for residents to have views heard.

    Ensure the remuneration packages are fit for purpose and fair and ensure the efficiency of council is maintained.

  • Encourage people to vote and offer my time for catch-up sessions to discuss matters that people want to be bought to the community board.

    Work with local promotions organisations to promote ethnic inclusion in and around our community.

    Take an active role in community feedback to the council.
