Why I'm standing

I believe that Napier is being treated as a second class city. In my opinion central government is still pushing to amalgamate Napier and Hastings. They are effectively trying this by stealth taking services to Hastings, such as a hospital and our police station being reduced to a satellite station not open 24/7, also without processing and custodial facilities. This takes officers off our streets for long periods while they process offenders in Hastings.

About me

I am very passionate about Napier being a good safe place to live and bring up a family. With some governance experience on school boards, and being a director of a local company that has been running for more than a decade and a half, I believe this experience will be a asset to council to keep costs down by having efficient services that provide good value to ratepayers without wasteful spending.

My priorities
  1. Provide Napier City with a full service police station open 24/7 to effectively fight crime.
  2. Provide Napier City with at least a free emergency medical facility as promised.
  3. Keep rate rises to a minimum by streamlining council services and stop wasting ratepayer money.
