Why I'm standing

I believe in democracy and I want our community to feel listened to and engaged. I believe in localism – local people making local decisions. I want to improve community cohesion that I feel has been undermined by recent events and needs rebuilding.

About me

I will actively seek to truly represent the wishes of my ward around the council table. I understand advocacy from my experience as a union delegate in my chosen profession. I can stand up and speak out for those who feel marginalised in our community and ensure that their voice is heard. i am not afraid of having an unpopular point of view and expressing it in defence of others.

My priorities
  1. Restoring community cohesion and resilience post covid to build a stronger community going forward.
  2. Fighting Three Waters and retaining control and ownership of our assets.
  3. Retaining local democracy and resisting the centralisation of services to our community.
