Why I'm standing

I worked with Napier City Council councillors on council committees while in my 20s – back then I thought I'd make a good councillor one day. Well the time is now! I'm ready to do the best for Napier, my home town. I promote a positive campaign. I like where Napier is headed and want to help steer it in the best direction for local democracy to have a strong voice.

About me

I have a strong family connection with Napier and my grandmother, Hana, fought hard to retain Napier hospital. Her drive and passion for what is good for Napier is strong in me also. I have experience in local government, government departments, governance and asset management. I have been an educator and I work in asset management at present. Understanding and prioritising of funding for social well-being and infrastructure are strengths.

My priorities
  1. Water and retaining local control and promoting strong local democracy over central government.
  2. Sorting through the Resource Management Act changes as they present to council needs.
  3. Continuing to make Napier the best place to bring up families and promoting social services.
