Papakura Local Board

The Papakura Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of six members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Commit to supporting the Papakura Youth Council to grow leaders in advocacy and community for public engagement and diverse representation.

  • Consultation and process monitoring and transparent data to be reported/recorded. A well being monitoring to enable due deligence.

    Everything must have consultation and process its clear and simple to allow continuity of the public to have their say.

    Once again consultation and process for the public at large for the people to be inclusive in these important decisions.

  • Increase public engagement activities in Papakura, and actively promote the narrative for Papakura to gain community support.

    Commit to lobbying for a Māori seat on the Papakura Local Board to represent the 26.8 percent Māori population of Papakura.

    Commit to supporting Papakura rangatahi/youth, our leaders of tomorrow, by building a youth hub to help grow their potential and leadership.

  • Encourage engagement and participation of local Māori and Pasifika stakeholders regarding community building initiatives.

    Push for a focus on digital platforms to boost public engagement and accessibility.
