Mayor of Rotorua

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I'm a second term councillor. After understanding the mechanics of council I feel I can offer more to the running of the city. The last nine years has seen leadership very much overplayed and councillors undermined and divided to suit the personal purpose of promoting an agenda that has seen the rise of vagrants in the city to businesses struggling and people utterly disappointed. This has to change.

About me

I have worked earnestly for the benefit of my community and believe that Rotorua, my city and the district, is very much God's own paradise. Once a most beautiful city waiting again to be restored. Our beautiful and pristine lakes, our mountains and Redwoods.

My priorities
  1. Firstly, I will seek to see our district plan violation brought to the fore regarding the motels.
  2. A reversal of any reserves taken from the residents. Renewing the lease of Springfield golf club.
  3. It's time to rise above the parapet and bring a business action plan for our city businesses.
