Mayor of Rotorua

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Rotorua District Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

Rotorua Is An Economic Powerhouse! It is our heart, our home, our future. We together can optimise opportunities and get the heart of Rotorua beating again! I am standing for mayor to ensure we turn the tables on the demise of our city and start to unify and fortify progress and better outcomes.

About me

I stand politically independent. Rotorua raised, home to my six children and five grandchildren gives me vested interest in the future of our city. As a business owner of multiple businesses over the years, I know how to start, build, scale and manage all aspects of business. I am a strong no-nonsense leader who is all about getting the job done.

My priorities
  1. Ensuring there is a clear, safe and strategic exit plan for the cessation of emergency housing.
  2. Economic Development – Innovate, adapt, improve on the good economic initiatives and plans developed
  3. Review all finance and expenditure for immediate cutbacks on all unnecessary spending.
