Mayor of Rotorua

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Rotorua District Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

I am standing for mayor to ensure a better future for Rotorua, and a better Rotorua for all. I'll provide a positive way forward and be connected with all parts of our community. Rotorua deserves a mayor that listens, cares, and takes action. I grew up in and live in Rotorua with my husband and 10 year old stepson. I'm passionate about and dedicated to our district.

About me

A vote for me gives you the advantage of a mayor that has nine years experience in local government, and the energy to fight for Rotorua and your needs. I know how council works so will be an effective mayor from day one. I have a business degree and experience working in the local tourism industry and top finance firms, BNZ Business Partners and Deloitte, helping organisations to invest and grow.

My priorities
  1. Safe community: I'll increase the investment into crime prevention and community safety initiatives.
  2. Stop the spend: review and refresh of council and projects to deliver better value for money.
  3. Smart investment: enable better housing and job opportunities. And restore the reputation of Rotorua.
