Tawa Community Board

The Tawa Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Wellington City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of eight members: six members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Wellington City Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Tawa Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I love living in Tawa and want to continue to make our community a great place for everyone. I bring a deep understanding of our community and what helps us to thrive. I will continue to represent Tawa with a strong voice.

About me

I've been active in Tawa for many years as a parent, teacher, volunteer, Tawa Community Board member, local Takapū Northern Ward Councillor and Deputy Mayor. I value diversity, community participation and working collaboratively with people to support their aspirations. I have extensive knowledge of Council processes and meeting procedures having chaired a number of Council committees including the main Council committee this term. I have been a board member for the past six years.

My priorities
  1. Ensuring that Tawa has a strong voice in Wellington City Council through the work of the community board.
  2. Ensure that Tawa projects are delivered as agreed in the 2021 Long Term Plan (Grenada North Park, Linden Toilets).
  3. Continue to build strong relationships with community and organisations to support Tawa to thrive.
