Tawa Community Board
The Tawa Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Wellington City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of eight members: six members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Wellington City Council. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
I want to promote the continuing growth and vibrancy of Tawa and improve infrastructure.
About me
I have lived in Tawa for 35 years and bought up my family here. I have considerable expertise in local government and infrastructure. I am actively involved in the Tawa community being a member of Rotary, U3A, Probus, and the RSA. I am particularly interested in the needs of seniors and families.
My priorities
- Building an all weather playing, training and sports facility for junior football and rugby.
- Strengthen the main bridge into Tawa and improve the main stormwater culverts through Tawa.
- Improve traffic management through the Linden shopping centre.
