Tawa Community Board

The Tawa Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Wellington City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of eight members: six members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Wellington City Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Tawa Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

Tawa is a great place and there is an opportunity to make it even better. I am excited for the growth Tawa is set to see, and would like to use my urban design and community engagement experience to advocate for density done well and create a thriving place for our people.

About me

Although I am new to Tawa, I have been active in community initiatives for the wider city and am excited to have the opportunity to bring this enthusiasm to my local area. I work with councils, district plans and communities every day for my job. This means I can navigate these systems and make them accessible for communities to feel empowered and part of the process.

My priorities
  1. Do density well. Work with council for the outcomes that enhance our community.
  2. Reduce short and long-term flooding. Strengthen our stream resilience now and for the future.
  3. Promote public transport and active travel as safe, reliable and fun options to get around.
