Tawa Community Board

The Tawa Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Wellington City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of eight members: six members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Wellington City Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Tawa Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I believe Tawa is a vibrant place to live but that it is often forgotten about by council. My aim will be to advocate on behalf of Tawa.

About me

I won't make promises that I have no power to deliver on. What I will do is listen, and be an advocate between the community, the board and the council. I've raised two children in Tawa and have been involved in many local groups. I am a registered accounting technician and work as a manager for a nation-wide medical charity. I sit on the WFA Consumer Council.

My priorities
  1. Oppose the planned landfill extension, but if it proceeds, work to mitigate the effects on Tawa
  2. Work to get Tawa pool reopened as soon as possible and keep it open.
  3. Look at ways we can reduce the level of crime in the community and make Tawa the safest suburb.
