Why I'm standing

I explore and teach democracy and social responsibility in my classroom and I believe that one should lead by example hence I am running for Council to demonstrate to our youth that we should value and engage with our local community. I also believe that we need a range of people at our council table to ensure robust conversations occur and there is consideration for all sections of our community.

About me

I am approachable, diligent and committed to our community. I am a teacher who demonstrates excellent organisational skills, professional and personal responsibility, co-operation and decisiveness. I am enthusiastic about ensuring our young people strive for critical thought and social responsibility. I have been governing board chairperson for the South Canterbury Free Kindergarten Association. I will advocate for a balanced view between innovative progression and an enhanced lifestyle for now and into the future.

My priorities
  1. Encourage strong links between business and education to ensure accessible pathways for youth.
  2. Establish green corridors into and green spaces within CBD for recreational purposes.
  3. Facilitate pedestrian opportunities in CBD to create a mall-like atmosphere with adjoining parking.
