Why I'm standing

I love Timaru and my vision is to make sure we are reaching our full potential as a vibrant and attractive destination to work, live and play. My campaign slogan is "Let's Get Things Done" because I feel that too many large community projects are taking too long to come to fruition. We've become risk averse, bogged down in consultancy and are failing to keep up with other similar sized towns in our region.

About me

I've always been well connected to my community but the CPlay playground project has taken that to a whole new level and enabled me to really develop my skills of negotiation and governance. I've been able to build many strong relationships with people of all levels in the community and I'm excited about the opportunity to represent them on council. I have also been a former school board member for Bluestone School.

My priorities
  1. Get major capital projects completed. Too many major capital projects awaiting completion.
  2. Make Timaru a better place to live, work and play by providing meaningful public spaces to connect.
  3. Strive for rate efficiencies with strong governance and getting infrastructure fundamentals right.
