Waiheke Local Board

The Waiheke Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of five members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Limit the number of vehicles on the island to residents and service people. Encouraging visitors to use active modes and public transport.

  • Continue pushing for bringing the downtown ferry service under the Public Transport Operating Model.

    Get funding for the top five projects in the Waiheke 10 Year Transport Plan, noting their contribution to encouraging walking and cycling.

    Review the bus routes and timetables to improve coverage of the island and their user friendliness.
