Councillor, Waikato Regional Council
I enjoy working for the community and the region. I've been self-employed since I left school, and combined with my experience and understanding of the regional council and how it works, believe that I have a lot to offer. Our region's natural resources (eg, freshwater and native biodiversity) are valuable, and we have a responsibility to ensure these assets are looked after, in order that both current and future generations can benefit.
I believe that communities thrive when everyone pulls their weight and makes decisions for the greater good rather than themselves. I'm passionate about the role that the regional council plays in the region and believe that we can always do things better. I work well in a team and take the view that if the council can't add value with what it is doing, it shouldn't be doing it.
