Te Awamutu-Kihikihi General Ward
The Waipā District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 11 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Three councillors will be elected from the Te Awamutu-Kihikihi ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Support the transfer of Cambridge Town Hall to a local trust to promote the use and refurbishment of the facility.

    Continue to promote the planned improvements and refurbishments to parks and sports fields throughout Waipā for future generations.

    Aware that the proposed new Cambridge Library and Te Awamutu Museum will be limited by the current economic situation.

  • Ensure the Memorial is maintained to the standard it is meant to be. It is not a park but a war memorial to honour WW2.

    Promote replacing the football field at the stadium with a better surface like artificial grass. Very soggy with wet weather.
