Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board

Central Subdivision
The Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including two members from your area, and three councillors from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Set up community engagements where the community can speak with elected members with privacy and respect.

  • Advocate for the interest of my community by promoting open communication between the council and the people.

    Continue to support the Living Wage for council staff and employees.

    Reflect and promote the diversity of our communities at the decision making table.

  • Ensure that all meetings of councils and community boards are live-streamed and recorded and easily available to the public.

    Improve council's engagement and communications systems to increase resident satisfaction.

  • Establish an open 'office' where residents can come to record their issues, which will be collated and presented at monthly board meetings.

    Occasionally hold monthly meetings at different public venues such as Linwood Community Centre.

    All employees to receive a Living Wage.
