Bream Bay General Ward
The Whangārei District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 13 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Two councillors will be elected from the Bream Bay ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Create a park and ride facility and use the buses to deliver patrons to town. Create ring roads, left turn only.

    Establish a harbour ferry with landings at Marsden Point. Parua Bay McLeod's bay Whangārei heads right into the Town Basin.

  • Work with central government/local government for more EV units in public transport.

    Work with NZTA for better roading commitments, bridge replacements, local car parks, footpath upgrades.

    Introduce options for better road safety, better schooling, advertise road safety, commit to lower road speeds.

  • Improving our district's infrastructure like the port, dry dock, and roading and rail links.

    Create a parking strategy that brings free parking into town.
