Whangārei electorate

Whangārei is currently held by Labour's Emily Henderson, who won by a narrow margin of 431 – one of the smallest margins in the country. Henderson is not standing again in 2023. In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in Whangārei – 47% to National's 26%.

About me

I have stood alongside and supported those advocating for the reinstatement of Marsden Point Oil Refinery. I have successfully petitioned for improved equality for those with communication disabilities. I have a teaching degree and am proud to be a published te reo Māori author. I have been active in the community in the arts, performing arts, environmental, kapa haka sectors, health. An experienced admin/advocate, I started the first Business Crisis Support Group in NZ. Local resident 45+

My priorities
  1. Rebuild trust between government and Whangārei district's communities.
  2. Collectively rebuild our local economy, address poverty and healthcare, social services.
  3. Collectively address public safety, infrastructure development, and environment to improve outcomes.
