Why I'm standing

My family and I love living, playing and working in the Bay. As director of Emergency Management Bay of Plenty, I've been at the helm on some of our region's darkest days and if we want to meet future challenges with resilience, we need elected members who are there for the right reasons who want to serve the people, not themselves. I believe I could make a difference for people of the Bay.

About me

I have been in public service for over 37 years, serving diverse communities. I have held senior leadership positions – the most recent being the Director of Emergency Management Bay of Plenty – I believe this gives me a great understanding of local government having worked at the regional level with the Bay of Plenty Regional Council and the local city and district councils.

My priorities
  1. Ensure community safety programmes are prioritised to prepare for disasters.
  2. Ensure the community voice is heard to understand needs and in decision making.
  3. Collaborate between regional council and territorial authorities for efficient use of rates.
