Why I'm standing

As a lifelong Bays resident I love our area and believe we must continually strive to preserve and build on what we have. As a member of the Backing the Bays team we have a strong, ambitious action plan that we want to see delivered in the next three years. I believe we have the mix of skills, experience and local knowledge to get the job done and make a difference.

About me

I have a track record of standing up for our communities, helping residents navigate their way around council to get the information and answers and outcomes they require and putting community ahead of personal or political agendas. I've excellent community connections. Long-term Justice of the Peace. I know how council works and understand the importance of working collaboratively and constructively with others to get the positive outcomes our community wants and deserves.

My priorities
  1. Improve sedimentation standards and monitoring to improve the health of streams and waterways.
  2. Work with government agencies and iwi to introduce a rāhui to allow sealife time to recover.
  3. Expand valued community restoration and pest eradication programmes to more local areas.
