Why I'm standing

For the last 22 years, my husband Max and I have called Kaikoura home. After working for council for many years, I want to step up and help lead our community through the challenges and opportunities of the next three years. I understand the role council plays in the community. I want to help steer the council to contribute to a future that keeps young people in the district and Kaikoura affordable for all.

About me

During my 16 years at the Kaikōura District Council (planning and emergency management), I worked across council services, with iwi, district and regional stakeholders, and the wider community. I have seen how the decisions the council makes actually affects the community, iwi, ratepayers, and businesses on the ground. I understand the LGA and RMA. I will use my experience to create better outcomes in these challenging, uncertain and exciting times.

My priorities
  1. Prioritise affordability across all council rates and fees during this time of high living costs.
  2. Work with business and government to find a variety of solutions to affordable housing for all.
  3. Continue to responsibly manage infrastructure needs while looking for opportunities to grow.
