Why I'm standing

I want to ensure that our community prospers for all - now and into the future. We have to take an intergenerational approach to our decision making - I want my children and their children in turn to thrive here. We have to understand central government decisions and how these impact our community. Over my last 6 years on council I have developed the skills and understanding needed to guide Kaikoura through these challenges.

About me

You will know me as a community person - I'm a volunteer, a board member, a mum, someone who helps local people grow and thrive. I work with youth and vulnerable members of our community and bring their voices to the table. I challenge others to ensure the wider impacts of our decisions are fully understood. I currently work at Te Ha o Matauranga, my previous work includes Work and Income, Barnardos, Te Whare Putea.

My priorities
  1. Balance growth and development without losing our community heart.
  2. Ensure our museum has assured council funding to maintain its viability. We cannot lose our history.
  3. Advocate for a Kaikoura based practical driving test route to be established.
