Why I'm standing

I see many issues looming, and believe I have skill sets to help us address them effectively and deliver outcomes that maximise individual freedom within the bounds of social and ecological responsibility. Freedom is fundamental to life, but freedom without adequate responsibility is always destructive. Finding a sweet spot in the eternally evolving needs of individuals, society, culture and the natural ecosystems that support us all is what I am about.

About me

I have started and run two businesses, so understand the demands of business. I have a lifetime involvement in responsible stewardship of our natural environment, both for its own sake and for what it gives to us. I have a strong systems focus, having been programming computers for over 50 years and from my involvement in many community organisations.

My priorities
  1. Ensure water and sewer systems can continue to operate if the Alpine Fault rupture cuts power.
  2. Maintain the reputation as a place to experience nature at its best by being that.
  3. Be as prepared as possible for the impacts of AI.
