Why I'm standing

I want to address the lack of disability experience in leadership, where long term planning and decision-making often neglects our needs. Growing up with a vision impairment helped me to become an experienced leader representing disabled people; with strategic thinking, relationship building and problem-solving skills to offer. I am dedicated to promoting inclusion and accessibility for elderly people, and all those with mobility challenges. Manurewa deserves elected leaders who better reflect the communities they represent.

About me

Guided by values of equality, social justice and environmental protection, I am focused on creating unity and being a strong voice for more vulnerable people of Manurewa. Addressing social issues that stop people from having dignity is crucial. It is important to work on reducing rates increases, to lower fees for council services such as libraries or swimming pools, and to ensure community groups pay affordable facility hire charges. All locals will have equal opportunities.

My priorities
  1. Promote disability inclusion and accessibility, including ensuring council provides plain-language information.
  2. Fix footpaths, clear drains and support weekly rubbish collections to create healthy neighbourhoods.
  3. Tackle roaming dogs to make streets safer for kids, people walking and using public transport.
