Ahuriri General Ward
The Napier City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 11 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). three councillors will be elected from the Ahuriri ward.     Oppose any plan to reduce bin collection frequency as residents expect reliable services they already pay for.

    Review plans for upgrade to drinking water and viability of storage on Hospital Hill.

  • Support a user pay system for water use.

    Support financial incentives around recycling and waste minimisation and make it easy for residents.

  • Back predator control in reserves and wetlands so healthy ecosystems thrive in Napier's backyards.

    Protect drinking water by upgrading pipes, monitoring bores and fixing leaks fast – every drop saved keeps costs and taps safe.
