Kumeū Subdivision
The Rodney Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of nine members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. two members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Advocate for improved digital infrastructure to ensure fast, reliable internet access for homes, businesses and community facilities.

    Encourage local-to-local business partnerships and purchasing initiatives to keep money circulating within the community.

    Promote initiatives that help local businesses thrive, including better transport links, digital connectivity and access to local markets.

  • Continue to advocate for the bypass from Brighams Creek to Fosters Rd as this is the single most important project that will allow growth.

    Continue to oppose the rapid transport corridor route that would remove a large percentage of hospitality and service businesses.

    Support continued promotion of the northwest as the adventure capital of Auckland and rezone appropriate land for businesses to develop in.

  • Support more commercial growth within the Taupaki – Kumeū – Waimauku – Riverhead area.

    Support rangatahi into development programmes available locally.

    Work with agencies such as MSD to provide wraparound support to job seekers, as well as local opportunities for employment.
