Selwyn District Council

Selwyn At Large
The Selwyn District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of ten councillors and the mayor. This election is for the two councillors elected by all voters in the district. The other councillors will be elected to represent wards (areas in the district). This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Selwyn District Council election.

Why I'm standing

I want to reduce revenue leakage and mend the lack of trust in council. I want to bridge the divide between rural and urban areas to bring back the heart of Selwyn to be one community.

About me

I have lived in Selwyn for over 36 years, buying my first home in Rolleston in 1989, watching as the area has taken on a new life. I have had a financial advisory business for nine years, working with people from all walks of life, and I have extensive financial experience to bring to the table. I will take on the task of being a voice for the Selwyn community and always be available and approachable.

My priorities
  1. Respect council spending, finances and budgets.
  2. Bring the rural and urban communities together for all to benefit from being in a unique town with diversity.
  3. Remove predetermined outcomes and ensure all information is provided for council decisions.
