Why I'm standing

We live in the best district in the country and with all the changes upon us this election, I want to make sure this once-in-a-generation opportunity leads us in the right direction. I want to help make Selwyn District Council a modern council that uses technology to help us be more efficient and cost effective.

About me

I'm the right fit because I have nearly eight years of governance experience as chair of a business chamber. I focus on oversight and strategy, not daily operations. I'm here to ask the right questions and hold the right people accountable. I also have experience working with dozens of councils in ANZ to make them more transparent and focused on community engagement, winning a national SuperEngaged award. Great experience for our council.

My priorities
  1. Prioritise spending in a trade-off manner to control rates increase and support responsible growth.
  2. Champion genuine community engagement with participatory budgeting and open forums.
  3. Find smarter ways to handle growth by using fresh ideas and tech, to stay strong for years to come.
