Tawa Community Board

The Tawa Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Wellington City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of eight members: six members elected by voters, and two members from the Wellington City Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Tawa Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I've been fortunate to serve our community for over nine years - six as a Wellington City Councillor and three as Chair of the Tawa Community Board. I love living in Tawa and want to help keep it a great place for everyone. With experience in council and a strong connection to our community, I hope to continue representing Tawa and supporting what helps us all thrive.

About me

Tawa is a vibrant, connected community, and I'm standing again to help strengthen and support it. I've lived here over 20 years, raised my family, and been actively involved as a teacher, volunteer, Tawa Community Board chair, councillor and deputy mayor. I bring deep local knowledge, extensive governance experience and a genuine care for our community. I will listen, represent your voice and work hard to ensure Tawa continues to thrive.

My priorities
  1. Support events, parks and safe streets to keep a strong, connected and safe community in Tawa.
  2. Protect Tawa's nature and waterways and improve local waste systems to maintain a healthy environment and waterways.
  3. Use experience to make sure Tawa's voice is heard on key issues through effective advocacy and representation.
