Tawa Community Board

The Tawa Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Wellington City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of eight members: six members elected by voters, and two members from the Wellington City Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Tawa Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I love Tawa and have enjoyed being on the Community Board these past three years. We have worked with other councils on odour issues and getting a local bus service after (sadly) losing the OnDemand. But there is more to be done, and I would be thrilled to be re-elected to grow my existing relationships with the community and council officials, and continue to build upon the work we have got started.

About me

I work as an urban designer, with degrees in law, geography and urban planning, which give me a great foundation of understanding people and place, and navigating governance systems. I am an engaged community member and enjoy communicating with people across the board.

My priorities
  1. Support safe streets to enable more vulnerable populations, young and old, to safely move through Tawa.
  2. Support the Porirua Harbour Accord for healthy, climate-resilient streams.
  3. Work with business and residents groups to advocate for improved community facilities.
