The Waihoro Spreydon-Cashmere-Heathcote Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including Two members from your area, and three members from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Continue to oppose the granting of new bottle store licensing.

  • Protect and support community spaces including libraries, halls, sports venues and parks for continued, affordable use for all.

    Support clean, functioning public toilet facilities across the ward, especially in high use recreational areas such as Rapaki Track.

    Support cycling network connecting recreational areas with marked cycleways, signage, speed limits and safer intersections.

  • Ensure on-time delivery of the new Ōmokihi – South Library with fit-for-purpose library, service centre and community facilities.

    Invest in upgrades to parks facilities such as the Somerfield Park Pavilion and deliver new facilities such as toilets in Francis Reserve.

    Work with families and survivors to deliver a meaningful memorial for the unmarked graves in Sydenham Cemetery.
