Why I'm standing

I have ideas and I do things, and I can add a relevant background of both professional and community experiences, having worked for Christchurch City Council as communication manager, and in government agencies from building and housing, statistics, customs to the Beehive, and work in the community and voluntary sector.

About me

I am personable and interested. I will talk to anyone. I want Waimakariri to be even better. I am an advocate of community. I believe for outcomes to be lasting, they need to be fair, logical and owned by the community. I am happy to consult, I roll my sleeves up and I want solutions. I do things on the smell of an oily rag. I understand governance versus management, and I know despite wanting things done, there are systems and people responsible.

My priorities
  1. Community cohesion campaign including inclusive district-wide community local economic development campaign.
  2. Community cohesion campaign including bespoke council and community display news feed.
  3. Create and promote interest hubs such as op shops, fashion, classic and vintage cars.
