Why I'm standing

I believe my skills and experience are needed because of observed lack of competency in council governance to ensure a quality long term plan, finances and associated rates. I believe amenity values of Cambridge are being eroded through poor planning decision making. I advocate for an earlier solution for additional on ramps to the freeway at Newcombe Road to service the south of Cambridge and heavy transport within a 10 period.

About me

I have been a councillor for two terms in the regional council finishing as chair of council. I was chair of finance and led governance and gained council commitment to upgrade the finance and accounting systems for council. I was general manager of Fieldays for 20 years in its development years, so I know how to lead and harness a team to achieve great outcomes. I am currently a Cambridge Menzshed committee member.

My priorities
  1. Focus on attending to the seven very high risks in the recently approved LTP.
  2. Update council systems for efficiency addressing Auditor-General's adverse opinion.
  3. Ensure better capital works planning and reporting to the community.
