The Waipuna Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. Why I'm standing
I believe Riccarton is a special place. I grew up on Kauri Street, went to local schools and worked in local business. I now have experience working across industry and around the world, and I want to put my skills to work for the community and give back. I believe Riccarton is the starting point to a new life for many and contains many creative and hard-working people. I want to offer a fresh perspective and build on our strengths.
About me
I have always had a passion for finding shared solutions by bringing people together and finding consensus, which I do in my professional capacity too. I have worked across government, the private sector, banking, the transport industry, and now in a charity that provides healthcare to countries that need it. Leading major transformations, I engage and listen to everyone, bring them together and drive a shared outcome. I will bring this skillset to the community board.
My priorities
- Advocate for safe, liveable streets with transport options to get people to work, school and play.
- Build thriving businesses and more jobs by filling empty stores in main streets with local business.
- Provide present and proactive representation by working with the community to find solutions to all issues.
