Mayor of Wellington

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Wellington City Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

I'm running for mayor because I care deeply about our city's future. I'm concerned that our community faces pressing challenges like housing, climate resilience and social wellbeing that need strong, inclusive leadership. I want to ensure everyone's voice is heard and work collaboratively to create a city that's safe, affordable and thriving for all. Together, we can build a better future where everyone belongs.

About me

I will make a good elected representative because I'm a strong listener who values diverse community voices. With years of experience working in local organisations and leading projects like predator-free initiatives, I understand our city's challenges. I'm committed to transparent, inclusive leadership and delivering results that benefit everyone. I'm passionate about bringing people together to create positive change for our community and environment.

My priorities
  1. Commit to affordable housing so everyone has a safe, warm home close to jobs and schools.
  2. Develop a climate resilience plan to protect Wellington from floods and extreme weather.
  3. Support local businesses and youth jobs to grow the economy and create opportunities.
