Hibiscus Coast Subdivision
The Hibiscus and Bays Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of eight members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. Four members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Committed to a community centre/hub for Whangaparāoa delivering strengthened capability for the entire community.

    Actively support the development of business improvement districts in Silverdale and Whangaparāoa and maintain the health of Destination Ōrewa.

    Supportive of fledgling business groups delivering community amenity in their areas.

  • Progress projects already identified in town centre plans for Silverdale, Orewa, and Whangaparoa.

    Support local business networks and business associations to encourage economic prosperity for the benefit of our people.

    Encourage forward thinking implementation of employment and housing opportunities in town centres that supports people to live and buy local.

  • For local business to succeed and develop council must consult and advise of infrastructure changes that may prevent its operation.

    Work experience programs could be developed with council engaging with schools and local business to encourage awareness of opportunities.

    Ratepayer dollars need to go back to the community to maintain/build safe footpaths, roading and water infrastructure, reducing ACC costs.

    Create better connected townships by ensuring Auckland Transport deliver on key infrastructure.
