Why I'm standing
I want to enhance Invercargill's appeal to the younger generation and ensure the city is an attractive place to build a career and raise a family. As a 32 year old, I believe I add a younger perspective to council decisions. I also believe some of council's recent decisions have been made behind closed doors without adequate consultation with the public.
About me
Working as a financial adviser, I engage with a variety of people throughout the community and help them find financial security. Outside of work, I am a family man who enjoys outdoor adventures. I have a keen interest in local and national politics, which has drawn me to stand for council and being part of a team developing an exciting future for the city. I consider myself to be an honest, open and democratically minded person.
My priorities
- Enable development and push to enhance the vibrancy of the city centre.
- Fast track the new museum, by streamlining the process. Do some of the project stages concurrently.
- Prioritise council's core functions (roading, water and waste services).
